FanFaire Foundation is proud to partner with the LOGAN HEIGHTS BRANCH LIBRARY in celebrating the 2011 holiday season with a FREE FAMILY SING-ALONG program led by a vocalist with piano accompaniment.

The Sing-Along takes place at the Library’s COMMUNITY ROOM and begins at 1:00 pm. The program begins with a musical performance featuring the very talented kids of FanFaire Foundation’s “KIDS Playing For KIDS” PROGRAM,* among them: ALEXIS NG, FanFaire Foundation’s little fund-raising angel who will play the cello and piano, and the prize-winning pianists MICHAEL CHEN and ELIAS BUTTERFIELD.

Tenor ALEXIS ALFARO will lead the Sing-Along, with piano accompaniment by SHELDON ROSENBAUM. Among the holiday songs the audience will surely enjoy singing are the following popular carols:

· Frosty the Snowman

· 12 Days of Christmas

· Winter Wonderland

· Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

· Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

The stage is set for a HAPPY HOLIDAY AFTERNOON that family members of ALL AGES will surely enjoy!

Tenor Alexis AlfaroMexican-American tenor ALEXIS ALFARO has been praised for his eclectic singing style and the diversity of his repertoire, captivating audiences from New Zealand to Ireland, San Diego to New York, and Brazil to Mexico with his dynamic renditions of classical music, traditional Mexican folk songs, and contemporary jams. He has sung with several critically acclaimed a capella and contemporary groups including Serenity Now, S.N.E.Y.L, and the 89 Duo.

Trained in Southern California by world-renowned singers and conductors, Alexis honed his skills through his participation in the University of San Diego Choral Scholars Program and the San Diego State University Opera Program.

Alexis continues to grow as a musician/vocalist and finds joy in promoting music education through teaching and working for various music ensembles and arts organizations throughout San Diego. More than anything else, he thanks his parents for having him.

Currently an accompanist for the choirs at the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Encinitas, Sheldon Rosenbaum performs solo concerts and accompanies singers and instrumentalists throughout San Diego. He has played on the Gluck Chamber Music Series at Scripps Green Hospital, the Osher Institute Concert Series at the University of California, San Diego, the Sunday Concert Series at the Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Carmel Valley and Encinitas libraries. His programs include classical, jazz, popular, and Jewish music.

Sheldon Rosenbaum has been the staff pianist of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and Chorus and a faculty member of the Hartt College of Music of the University of Hartford, where he received his Bachelors of Music degree. He earned his Masters of Music from Northwestern University, where he received a fellowship as accompanist in the opera department. For more than 20 years, Mr. Rosenbaum was pianist in residence at the North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, Illinois and performed numerous solo and group concerts in the Chicago area.
