Casa de Manana in beautiful La Jolla was once again the oceanfront setting for a “KIDS Playing For KIDS” concert. Entitled “An Afternoon of Chamber Music”, it was the perfect program for a leisurely afternoon–classical music by the masters such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Mendelssohn, with a sprinkling of works by 20th century composers like Berkovich, Ginastera, and Slonimsky. Held on May 11, 2013 in celebration of National Chamber Music Month, the KIDS’ concert was also a great “aperitif” for Mother’s Day. READ AUDIENCE TESTIMONIALS.
Angie, Michael, Ursula, Paul and Adrian, already budding masters of their art, amazed the audience yet again with their musicianship and dexterity. And those who have kept track of their progress noted that they have grown both in age and musical maturity. We were happy to welcome Angie who made her first appearance with the “KIDS” program with her skillful rendition of Mendelssohn’s lively Scherzo and an evocative piece by Ginastera. She joined in April 2013.
