Upcoming release of FanFaire Foundation’s first CD celebrating the 1st anniversary of the Kids Playing For Kids Program is announced

Members of FanFaire Foundation’s popular “KIDS Playing For KIDS” program will be presented by the Friends of the Carmel Valley Public Library in a concert celebrating National Arts Month on Saturday October 27 at 1 p.m. The talented young artists, ages 9 to 17, will perform pieces for piano, violin, and French horn ranging in style from Film Music to the Romantic to the Baroque. The program opens with a virtuosic piano transcription of the rousing music composed by Badelt for the blockbuster movie “Pirates of the Caribbean followed by works by Mozart, Bach, F.Strauss, Haydn, Chopin, Elgar and Brahms.

The “KIDS Playing For KIDS” program, which launched in October 2011, nurtures musically gifted children who also love science and math so that they can become excellent role models for their peers. They are given opportunities to perform at various venues such as at this Carmel Valley concert, enabling them to express and share their love of music with other children, further develop their creative skills, and build their self-confidence as performers. The kids are also encouraged to excel in their studies and to learn the value of community service. The goal is that their passion for music and their good example and will spark among young people the creativity and sense of community needed in our highly competitive, science-based society. Studies have shown that music enhances the skills required for learning science and math.

In celebration of the program’s first anniversary, FanFaire Foundation produced a CD showcasing studio performances of classical and jazz pieces by ten of its thirty plus team members–a first for the Foundation and most of the disc’s featured young artists. There will be a CD-release Benefit Concert to celebrate the occasion on November 9 at the Woman’s Club of Carlsbad
