USD CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL: COACHES

SOME TESTIMONIALS FROM FESTIVAL PARTICIPANTS

  • The coaching was phenomenal. I really enjoyed seeing each piece of music from the perspectives of so many professional musicians.
  • The coaches really helped me learn how to play with a small group. They taught me how enjoyable chamber groups can be.
  • [I enjoyed having different coaches coaching the same piece as they] gave us more than one perspective of the music we were learning. Each comment was taken into careful consideration, for me to be able to bring out my way of playing the music.

All coaching sessions at the Winter Chamber Heat and the Summer Chamber Music Festival are conducted by members of the San Diego Symphony and the University of San Diego music faculty. Participants at advanced musical levels may perform along with the coaches at the final concerts. New to the Summer Festival this year is the Viol Consort Initiative (VCI) with guest artist LISA TERRY of New York.
